Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated April 17, 2026. The version on this page is always the current one.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the activities that are not permitted on the ZopPay platform. It applies in addition to — and is incorporated by reference into — the Terms of Service. If you are unsure whether your use case is acceptable, ask us first at compliance@zoppay.in — we would rather tell you early than suspend an account later.

1. Prohibited categories

You may not use the Service to process payments for, or otherwise in connection with:

  • Unlawful activity, goods, or services, including sanctioned counterparties.
  • Fraud, money laundering, or the financing of terrorism.
  • Unlicensed financial services (for example, operating a payment aggregator on top of ZopPay without the relevant licences).
  • Multi-level marketing schemes, pyramid schemes, or other revenue models that depend primarily on recruitment.
  • Sale of regulated or age-restricted goods (tobacco, alcohol, firearms, narcotics, gambling services) without the relevant licences and age-verification controls.
  • Infringement of intellectual property rights — counterfeits, pirated content, unauthorised streams.
  • Illegal adult content, including any content depicting minors.
  • Content that promotes hate speech, violence, or discrimination against protected groups.

2. Platform integrity

You may not:

  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, signature verification, or other platform controls.
  • Issue payment instructions using stolen or otherwise unauthorised payment credentials.
  • Use the Service to test payment credentials at scale (carding).
  • Upload or transmit malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the Service in a way that degrades service quality for other merchants or consumes grossly disproportionate resources.

3. Customer protection

You must:

  • Clearly describe the products or services being purchased before the customer completes payment.
  • Provide accurate contact information on receipts, invoices, and communications.
  • Honour refund, cancellation, and chargeback rights as required by applicable law, gateway rules, and your own merchant terms.
  • Respond to customer support and dispute requests within a reasonable timeframe.

4. Data handling

You must not capture or store raw card data or CVVs in your own systems. The ZopPay platform is architected so card capture is handled entirely by the downstream gateway; bypassing that model is not a supported use case.

5. Enforcement

We may take any of the following actions if we believe you are violating this AUP: (a) contact you to investigate; (b) apply additional monitoring or rate limits to your account; (c) restrict specific features (for example, certain payment modes or live mode); (d) suspend or terminate your account. For clear violations — particularly those with regulatory or safety implications — we will act first and investigate next.

6. Reporting abuse

If you believe a merchant is using ZopPay to violate this AUP — for example, by engaging in fraud or selling counterfeit goods — email abuse@zoppay.in. Reports are triaged on the same day.
